Our Story

At Verdun Park Wines, we love wine but especially love sharing wine with friends, family and customers. Our wine story began in 1997 when the first Shiraz vines were planted at Verdun, in the Adelaide Hills. Subsequently, we released our first wine in 2009 which won a gold medal that year in the Adelaide Hills wine show.

We’re a family owned, Adelaide Hills winery producing limited quantities of gorgeous, premium, cool climate wine. Being a small team of three, Danielle McBeath, Sandy and Bob Voumard, we’re hands on with every step. We follow sustainable practices in all aspects such as regenerative viticulture, boutique winemaking, limited transport and South Australian manufactured packaging. All of our wines from 2020 onwards are packaged in South Australian manufactured dry goods, including glass, which means not only is the wine South Australian, so is the packaging.

In the past you may have joined us at one of our Crush, Winter Reds or cellar door events, which were stacks of fun! Currently we’re operating as an online business, with our wine also available at a couple of select stores.

Thanks for stopping by online and enjoy having a look at our wines. All orders are sent by courier, Australia wide, for safe and speedy delivery.

Cheers, Danielle :-)

Meet The Team

Danielle McBeath

General Manager

With over 20 years’ in the wine industry, wine is one of Danielle’s loves. Experience gained at a number of iconic wine companies including Shaw and Smith, Nepenthe, Petaluma, Tatachilla, Lion Nathan and Pernod Ricard, the diversity of these organisations, ranging from family owned wineries to global FMCG corporates, combined with a stint at Wine Australia, provided a great background to create a boutique winery with her parents Sandy and Bob. As General Manager, Danielle takes care of the day to day running of the business and future plans, with a strong focus on the creative and visual aspects of Verdun Park Wines. As Danielle’s young family grow, Sandy and Bob are happily taking a step back towards retirement.

Bob Voumard

Director

During Bob’s five decades in the finance industry, with most of those years as an accountant for agriculture, aquaculture and regional clients, he provides a wealth of knowledge to the business. Having grown up in Port Lincoln, the seafood capital of Australia where the ocean lifestyle is abundant, he began to dream of a vineyard and wine business in the Adelaide Hills. This came to fruition in 1993, when the property at Verdun was purchased by Bob and Sandy. Bob has now retired from his two accounting businesses and is enjoying life moving closer to full retirement, with a focus on an ocean lifestyle again.

Sandy Voumard

Director

After a successful and enjoyable 37 year career as a junior primary/primary teacher Sandy retired in 2008 and took on the main role of events management, cellar door and local sales for Verdun Park Wines. Sandy works closely with Danielle on the creative aspects of the business and is a great sounding board for the many ideas Danielle comes up with. Sandy is enjoying life closer to full retirement with a focus on enjoying artistic pursuits.
